Wesley Triggs 'New Paintings'

Wesley Triggs is a recent graduate from the Crawford College of Art and Design, but in his four years as a practicing artist, has garnered much praise for his vibrant, abstract colour field paintings. His recent work has seen him introduce sheets of stainless steel to his canvases, the precise machine finish of which throws into sharp contrast his thick, boldly gestural brush marks.

His work is inspired by the abstract beauty of the horizontal and verticals lines of building sites and the weathering effects of the elements on man-made materials. This will be his first solo show with the Vangard Gallery. Previously Wesley has exhibited with the Paul Kane Gallery, Dublin, The Lavit Gallery, Cork, The Wexford Opera Festival and the Iontas Small Works Exhibition, Sligo. His work is also included in the collection of the Office of Public Works.
